Prime minister visits Volvo plant in Ghent

Today, Prime Minister Alexander De Croo visited Volvo Cars in Ghent. He was given a tour of the training centre and the paint shop.
Alexander De Croo: "Volvo Cars is a success. Ten years ago, people still had doubts whether car assembly had a future in our country. Today, Volvo is a truly sustainable company. This factory innovates every day and gives thousands of people opportunities to work."
Volvo Cars Ghent employs more than 7,000 people. More than 500 new people have been recruited since the beginning of 2023 and, every week, 30 to 35 new employees are added. Prime Minister De Croo also took a ride on the test track there in an all-electric Volvo XC40.
