Prime minister visits Sabca in Lummen

Prime Minister Alexander De Croo visited the SABCA Limburg site in Lummen on the occasion of the recent signing of the agreement between Lockheed Martin (LMCO) and SABCA for the production of F-35 components.

The agreement lays the foundation for Sabca to become a long-term supplier for the F35 where Sabca will be responsible for coating part of the wings. SABCA’s site in Lummen is currently installing high-tech machines that will manufacture composite parts for the F-35 from 2025.

Alexander De Croo: "Our companies should be given every opportunity to take part in projects where the Belgian government invests in defence. It is important to ensure the top-level technological know-how we have in our country. A strong defence industry in Belgium and Europe is a must for the security of our citizens and our allies."

Sabca in Lummen currently employs some 100 people.
